They are found in America, mostly in warmer southern climates. squirrels, and rabits can become infested with them. I shot 8 squirrels this year with botflys bulging out of their hides.

most of the species live near eguator or warm and damp places there is atleast one northern species that uses karibu/raindeer as host

They are typicly south American, I havent seen them anywhere else. |
