The VXR produces more BHP and Torque and is a fraction lighter aswell, i believe, so it'll always win a straight line drag......but the ST is just like a moden day XR, cheap and good laugh, but with the RS fast aproaching its launch, i'm sure that'll have far bigger fish to fry than a poxy vauxhall! :D

no i've driven both, i had an st earlier in the year through work. my dad has an astra vxr as his current car. there's no way im being bias at all, just the st is completly undriviable by todays standards of hot hatches. to be honest, i don't see why anybody would choose either of these when the civic type r falls into a similar price range!

Sorry I completley disagree.The ST is known for being one of the BEST handling cars, and I don't have a doubt that the VXR has decent handling but Ford is renowned for their brilliant handling. To me it sounds like you haven't driven either.
